I got this information from the web, namely from cnbcindonesia.com he said there was a report from "McAfee Mobile Research" which stated that there were many fraudsters who had infiltrated the Google Play Store targeting Southeast Asian users and the Arabian peninsula.
They make photo editing apps, wallpapers, keyboards, puzzle games and camera-related apps. the embedded virus will read through message notifications which can make unauthorized purchases.
it is said that if the application has passed the new review process, after that they implant it as if it is clean and there is no suspicion.
according to technical analysis Malware or virus containing dynamic code that can appear in the cache.bin folder setting.bin data.bin or png.
which in the end the malware will bring a notification listener to steal SMS that enter the same pattern as on Android Joker.
when the notification appears from the default SMS it will be sent using the webview javascript interface.
it says these malicious apps have had 700,000 downloads but they said they have been removed by Google along with McAfee mobile Research.
McAfee will also continue to work closely with Google to re-monitor or remove it if there are any more dangerous applications entering the Play Store.
